Summer school 2015: Understanding youth involvement in public action: A collective process
Under the theme Understanding youth involvement in public action: A collective process, this first summer school sponsored by Study of Youth Leaving Care in France and Québec (SYLC) proposes the creation of a reflective space and the provision of essential training. It is open to all of those interested in public processes and the factors required to support young people to become full stakeholders with equal rights, especially in relation to decisions that affect their futures.
The different sessions aim to provide training and promote exchange between many relevant parties: youth, those that work with youth, decision-makers, students, researchers and all citizens interested in pubic policy. The courses will provide a general understanding of citizen involvement in public policies, of the governance issues and of the range of meanings of participation and engagement. Throughout the different sessions the role of protagonists and youth politics will also be analysed. In addition, the position of each participant in the summer school will be a central element in learning of the course.
